Car history: |
2) This is a very nice '68 Corvette Stingray Convertible. The car is Lemans blue with black interior. It has the optional hardtop as well as a black soft top. The convertible top and interior appear to be original and are in good overall condition. The motor is the original #'s matching 327. It is a 300hp engine and the car runs excellent. The engine compartment is clean. You won't be embarrassed to open the hood on this one. It starts easy and runs cool. Many new parts have been installed. The 4 speed muncie transmission is original to the car and it shifts smooth with a strong clutch. The car comes equipped with power steering, power brakes, and telescopic steering wheel. New BF Goodrich radial tires are mounted on rally wheels. This is a very early production car, it is the 159th vette built in 68 according to the vin (194678S400159). This is a good driver and not a perfect show car. Paint looks good overall but would need to be redone if you want to show it. Midyear Corvettes bring a premium making the prices of 68-72 cars go up fast. Enjoy driving a classic that is a rock solid investment. December 21, 2008. 1) This is a very nice 68 Vette with the 327ci and 4-speed transmission. It is a matching numbers convertable with removable hard top. The car drives as good as it looks. Everything works fine and would be a great cruiser. All the chrome and stainless is very good. The paint is the original "Lemans Blue" but looks to be a repaint. They did do a nice job. The white convertable top is in fair condition. It could be the original top. I don't know for sure. The interior is very nice. The dash is excellent. Seats and carpet are nice but show some wear. No tears. I would say the wear came from getting in and out of the car. Door panels are fine. The undercarrige of the car looks good. Suspension, etc is good. Frame is solid. Overall, a great car. Mechanically, everything works fine. I did drive this car and it runs great. It goes through the gears like it should and rolls straight down the road. No smoke or noise that shouldn't be there. I owned an older Vette for 17 years so I am kind of familiar with them. No expert, but I have owned several old cars and this is a nice one. Paint from the owner. 102,000 miles. August 21, 2008. |
